ABOUT SPONGE

Sponge Theatricals is a company that lives by the Mickey and Judy philosophy of "Let's put on a show"! We bring together the most ambitious and driven teams of collaborative artists and put on ambitious titles.

Beginning in 2009 under Halee-Catherine Culicerto and Lora "Dorothy" Massey, Sponge began with two popular Gothic Titles, "Dracula" and "Jekyll & Hyde: the musical" at The Wings Theatre. Sponge was the last Residential Company at the Wings before it closed in 2011. In 2010, Massey and Cullicerto left the city and Dalles Wilie continued on as Creative Director bringing in Costume Designer and Board member Angela Borst.

Sponge carried on with many Cabarets and partnered with other companies on interesting projects. In 2011 Sponge celebrated the passing of Gay Marriage in Albany, NY by performing a one weekend engagement of "bare: a pop opera" at Albany University.

Sponge also produces several Cabaret series in Manhattan throughout the year including there popular weekly series "Friday Night Wring out" at the Red Egg in 2011.
